
Biography
Dan O'Connor, PhD, is a Faculty Research Scholar at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics. He has a PhD in the History of Medicine from the University of Warwick in the UK, and was a Greenwall Postdoctoral Fellow in Bioethics and Health Policy at the Berman Institute of Bioethics from 2007-2010. He is co-founder and Director of the new Collaboration on Health and Social Media (CHaSM) at Johns Hopkins, and is editor of the Berman Bioethics Bulletin. He has two main research interests within bioethics: 1) The historical processes by which new and radical medical procedures or conditions come to be constituted as 'ethical', and 2) the ethics of health information exchange using social media.
