White House Council on Environmental Quality
Neal Kemkar is the Deputy Associate Director for Energy and Climate Change for the White House Council on Environmental Quality. The Council on Environmental Quality was established within the Executive Office of the President through the National Environmental Policy Act to help coordinate federal environmental policy and to advise the President on environmental issues. Prof. Kemkar previously served as an advisor to the U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
Prior to joining the Administration, Prof. Kemkar practiced energy, environmental, and natural resources law in New York and Washington and served as a law clerk to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
He is a graduate of Brown University and Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as Executive Editor of the Georgetown International Environmental Law Review.
