Carl Jean-Baptiste is General Counsel to Dimensions Healthcare System. He advises Dimensions Healthcare System and its subsidiaries on a wide variety of legal matters. His areas of expertise include physician affiliations, regulatory compliance, medical staff matters and complex business transactions. As General Counsel, Carl oversees the system’s compliance, risk management and privacy functions. Prior to joining Dimensions in August of 2012, Carl was Hospital Counsel for MedStar Health.

Carl served as Chair of the Health Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association in 2009. He presented to the American Bar Association Health Law Summit on “Practical Approaches to the Stark Law” and provides educational seminars on legal issues to hospital executives and associates. Carl also serves the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Casey Cares Foundation, which provides uplifting programs for critically ill children.

Carl received his Juris Doctor degree in 1997 from the University of Maryland School of Law. During law school, Carl interned for U.S. District Court Judge Andre M. Davis and at the General Counsel’s Office of the University of Maryland Medical System. He is a graduate of Lehigh University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Government. In 2008, Carl received the degree of Master of Business Administration from Loyola University Maryland.
