Brian Sawers, a Visiting Assistant Professor at George Mason University and a former O’Connor Fellow at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, joins the UM Carey Law faculty to teach Business Associations and Torts. His research interests include property and law & economics. Currently, he is writing about how lawmakers redefined property in the 19th century to limit the economic opportunities of newly-freed slaves. He received his AB, summa cum laude, in Economics from Duke University, and his JD from Harvard Law School.
