Anthony Villa is a Senior Law and Policy Analyst at the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security. At the Center, Mr. Villaís work focuses on public health emergencies, including public health emergency law, policy, preparedness, and response. Those whom Mr. Villa has advised include the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Marylandís Governorís Emergency Management Advisory Council, Maryland hospitals in the National Capital Region, and the Maryland Judiciary. Mr. Villaís work at the Center also focuses on governance and strategic planning for state and local governments. While at the Center as a Research Assistant during law school, Mr. Villa conducted legal, policy, and academic research and writing regarding homeland security, counterterrorism, public health, and emergency preparedness and response. Before joining the Center, Mr. Villa practiced civil litigation in the areas of products liability and insurance defense, including professional liability, general liability, and ethics matters. Mr. Villa earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2007 and is admitted to practice law in Maryland. Mr. Villa graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University Chicago with a B.A. in Political Science in 2004.
