Preeti Emrick joined CHHS in May 2008 as a Law & Policy Analyst and became a Senior Law & Policy Analyst in 2010. She received her JD from the American University, Washington College of Law in 2006 where she was the Co-Founder and Senior Articles Editor of the The Modern American Journal and received the Mussey-Gillett Award.
Prior to graduating from law school, Ms. Emrick was a Research Associate (and now Advisory Council member) of the Public International Law and Policy Group, where she drafted policy and legislation for foreign governments, including proposed amendments to the constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After graduating from law school, Ms. Emrick was an Associate at a Baltimore law firm, representing indigent clients in medical assistance and social security disability claims. At CHHS Ms. Emrick has worked on and led a variety of projects, including those in public health preparedness and response, emergency management operations and planning, and exercises and trainings. Ms. Emrick also has worked in numerous Emergency Operations Center activations and operations in various positions and assignments. She is a 2002 graduate of the University of Michigan where she earned a BA in Political Science and Asian Studies.
