As Director of Admissions at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Katrin Hussmann Schroll oversees the entire range of activities of the Office of Admissions, from recruitment of prospective applicants, through supervision of the J.D. and LL.M. application processes, to counseling admitted candidates. In this role, Mrs. Schroll works closely with the Associate Dean for Students & Student Services and the Faculty Admissions Committee.
Mrs. Schroll was recently selected as a UMB Champion of Excellence – a honor recognizing individuals and teams at the University of Maryland, Baltimore who exemplify extraordinary accomplishments and represent excellence at the University. Mrs. Schroll is actively involved with the Law School Admission Council, currently serving as an advisor on its Audit Committee. She has served since 2010 in the planning committee for the Annual Meeting of Law School Diversity Professionals. She has also served as an evaluator of scholarship applicants for the Gates Millennium Scholars Program and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. At Maryland Carey Law, in addition to her responsibilities as Director of Admissions, she works with students and clients in the Immigration Law Clinic. In the past, she has taught legal writing and constitutional law at Goucher College, in Towson, Maryland.
Mrs. Schroll is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association. She earned her JD from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law, where she was a Leadership Scholar and received awards for her advocacy on behalf of clients in the Immigration Law Clinic. Prior to attending law school, Mrs. Schroll graduated summa cum laude from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, where she earned a BA in Economics. Mrs. Schroll spent her early years in Venezuela but relocated to Miami, Florida while a sophomore in high school.
