Biography
Ms. Schaffer is a Law Fellow at the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security. She is a 2007 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law with a certificate in Environmental Law. She also received a Bachelor’s of Science with honors in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources and the Environment. Ms. Schaffer competed in the 2006 Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition, where the University of Maryland team’s memorial won the top prize and the team advanced to the International Finals. In November 2007, Ms. Schaffer returned to help prepare and coach Maryland’s 2007 team for the Stetson Competition. The 2007 team won awards for the third best memorial, second best oralist, and also advanced to the International Finals. Ms. Schaffer studied International Negotiations in Norway at the University of Bergen Law School. Ms. Schaffer also served as a judge in the 2008 University of Richmond School of Law National Environmental Negotiation Competition and coached Maryland’s 2009 team, which earned second place at the Competition. Ms. Schaffer is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association.
