Biography
Mr. Nanni is an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the Social Security Administration. His practice primarily involves defending the Agency’s final administrative decisions concerning disability benefits in various federal district and circuit courts. He also reviews policies, regulations, and legislation affecting SSA programs. Prior to joining SSA, Mr. Nanni had a varied practice at a local law firm handling litigation in federal and state courts involving construction, contract, criminal, health care, insurance, real estate, and professional liability matters.
Mr. Nanni graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in biology and a minor in marine sciences, and he worked as a marine biologist before attending law school. He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was a writing fellow, president of the Moot Court Board, and a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barristers. After graduating, Mr. Nanni clerked for the Honorable Dale R. Cathell of the Court of Appeals of Maryland.
