Biography
Joel B. Grossman is Professor of Political Science at Johns Hopkins University and Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Maryland Law School. Before coming to Hopkins in 1996 he taught at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. He teaches and writes about American constitutional law, comparative constitutional law, constitutional theory, the Supreme Court, and other courses about the legal system. He has served as Chair of the political science departments at both Wisconsin and Hopkins, as Editor of Law & Society Review, and as Chair of the Wisconsin Judicial Commission. In 2005 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Law and Courts section of the American Political Science Association. And in 2008 he received an Excellence in Teaching Award from the JHU Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.
