Ms. Frey-Balter has been an Assistant Federal Public Defender with the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Maryland since 1992. Her responsibilities there include direct representation in U.S. District Court of indigent men and women charged with federal crimes. In addition to teaching at the University of Maryland School of Law, she teaches Trial Practice at the Catholic University School of Law in Washington, D.C. In 2005, she was named Adjunct Faculty of the Year from University of Maryland School of Law.
