Michael is an appellate litigator for the United States Department of Justice, Civil Division, Office of Immigration Litigation. Since joining the DOJ in 2007, Michael has filed over 200 briefs and delivered over 50 oral arguments in all of the federal circuit courts, resulting in over 30 published decisions. Michael clerked for the Hon. Judge Stuart R. Berger following graduating from UMD Law in 2006 with honors. Michael has also remained active with the law school as a Moot Court Board Outside Competition Coach. While at UMD Law, Michael was the President of Phi Delta Phi, a Teaching Fellow for the Legal Writing Program, a Moot Court Board member, and received the William P. Cunningham Award for Exceptional Achievements and Service.
