Mr. Bolea is an Assistant Attorney General and Principal Counsel currently appointed to the Maryland Department of Budget and Management (DBM). Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Bolea served for over nine years as counsel to the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) and the Power Plant Research Program (PPRP) at the Department of Natural Resources Mr. Bolea has extensive experience representing State agencies in energy, environmental and other matters before State and federal courts and administrative agencies, and in providing general legal counsel and advice. Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Bolea worked in private practice and clerked for the Honorable Lynne A. Battaglia on Maryland’s Court of Appeals and the Honorable Peter B. Krauser on Maryland’s Court of Special Appeals.
Mr. Bolea graduated Cum Laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law where he served on the National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Team and as a Staff Editor on the Law Forum and the Journal of Environmental Law. Mr. Bolea has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
