Professor Dash joined the faculty in 1970 after many years in public service with the federal government, chiefly as a litigation attorney. He has been an appellate attorney with the National Labor Relations Board, a trial attorney with the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice and deputy chief counsel to the comptroller of the currency, U.S. Treasury Department.
He has been a consultant for the Joint Committee of the Maryland Judicial Conference and Maryland Bar Association to implement the American Bar Associations Standards for Criminal Justice, the Committee on the Maryland District Court and the University of Maryland Court Management Institute.
He also has been reporter/consultant for the Maryland State Bar Association Committee on State Prosecutors. Professor Dash is a member of the faculty of the National Judicial College. He has been guest lecturer for the Federal Administrative Law Judges Conference.
