Biography | Selected Publications

In addition to private and corporate practice, Professor Gray has been an attorney-adviser in the Legal Adviser's Office of the U.S. Department of State; special counsel to the President's Task Force on Communications Policy; acting director of the Office of Environmental Impact, U.S. Department of Transportation; and has taught at the Catholic University of America School of Law, Georgetown University Law Center and the University of Tennessee College of Law.

He is the author of Cases and Materials on Environmental Law and co-author (with H. Shulman and F. James and D. Gifford) of Cases and Materials on the Law of Torts and (with F. Harper and F. James) of The Law of Torts. Professor Gray is completing his work on the third edition of Harper, James and Gray on Torts, the first four volumes of which have recently appeared. He is a member of the American Law Institute, the Selden Society and Phi Beta Kappa.
