Associate Dean Diane HoffmannDetroit Metro Times - Diane Hoffmann, JD, MS, associate dean at the School of Law who has written about marijuana law for The New England Journal of Medicine, says that without more consensus about marijuana's ability to add to treatment of medical conditions, cannabis will not enter the official governmental lexicon as medicine. "There are a lot of hurdles you'd have to get over," Hoffmann says.
