What is CRES?
The Critical Review Examination System was created by Alan Tyree of Australia.
An interactive online process presents students with a question and allows them to submit an essay answer. The exercise then poses “yes or no” questions concerning the students’ answer. The questions branch so each follow-up question depends on the answer given to the previous question. At the conclusion of the critique questions, students are given comments about the problem.
Professor Tyree's program and idea have been adapted for use in substantive US law school subject matter by Professor Bogen, his research assistants Harry Malone, Eric Sherbine, Sonia Siddiqui, and Tjasse Fritz.
The web base was built by University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law staff - Lila Faulkner and Nathan Robertson.
