Under the leadership of The George Washington University Law School, the first Capital Area Legal Writing Conference was held in 2011 and attracted approximately 100 participants. Since then, the Conference has continued its momentum. We anticipate strong participation at this year’s Conference and invite you to attend. This Conference has a loyal group of attendees and consistently draws participants not only from area law schools, but also from legal writing programs across the country.

The University Of Maryland Carey School Of Law is located in downtown Baltimore at 500 W. Baltimore St., Baltimore, Maryland 21201. Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport, the closest airport, is about 20 minutes from the law school.
Hotel rooms have been reserved at a discounted rate at the Hampton Inn located at 550 Washington Blvd., Baltimore, Maryland, 21230, just five blocks from the law school. We were able to negotiate a rate of $119 per night. The reservation cut-off date is February 18, 2016. That said, we ask that you reserve your room right away as space is limited.
The cost for overnight parking at the Hampton Inn is $35. (As indicated above, the law school is a short walking distance from the hotel. The walk will take you through the University of Maryland Baltimore campus.) Parking at the Baltimore Grand Garage, located across the street from the law school at 5 N. Paca Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201 is $14 per day.
