Cory Silkman is a board certified registered nurse and fourth-year evening law student at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. His legal research examines the various employment protections offered in state medical marijuana laws and how those protections relate to federal drug and disability law. Professionally, Mr. Silkman has over twelve years experience in nursing management and has extensive clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing. In 2005 he received certification in Pain Management Nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He is currently a member of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, The American Society for Pain Management Nursing, and The Honor Society of Nursing. His publications on multi-dimensional pain assessment in nursing and appraisal of quantitative nursing research were published in the official journal for the American Nurses Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree magna cum laude from Messiah College, and a Master of Arts in Religion degree cum laude from Yale University.
