Henry Hopkins ´68 Announces Matching Funds
Inspired by the selflessness and generosity shown by the Leadership Scholars, Henry Hopkins ´68 announced on May 9 that he will match every gift and pledge made to the Leadership Scholars Legacy Endowment.
Through Mr. Hopkins's generous matching contributions, every dollar you give or pledge will immediately double. Likewise, all the gifts and pledges that have already been given will also be matched.
Mr. Hopkins is the law school's Making an Impact campaign co-chair and a member of the Board of Visitors. He is also a staunch supporter of the University of Maryland, and a titan of philanthropy with a storied legacy of community service. We can't begin to thank Mr. Hopkins enough for his generous support.Give Online Today
About the Endowment
This fundraising initiative began when three Leadership Scholars decided to launch an unprecedented project in the history of the School of Law. The students wanted a meaningful way to thank the many alumni and friends that give generously each year in support of student scholarships. They decided to establish an endowment that will lead to funding additional Leadership Scholar awards.
Goals
Fundraising
The fundraising goal is $50,000, the minimum to establish an endowment. To date, we are already more than halfway towards reaching this goal!
Participation
The participation goal is 100 percent of Leadership Scholars - past and present - supporting our efforts.
Your Involvement
All Leadership Scholars are encouraged to participate by making a gift or pledge in support of the Legacy Endowment. Whether you are a first-year, second-year, third-year, or recent graduate, it is important to continue the cycle of giving that has allowed you to receive your support. It is up to you to give back - to begin a legacy for those students that follow.
Please join us in continuing our legacy at Maryland Law.

Leadership Scholars Program
The Leadership Scholars Program began in 2004 when alumni gifts enabled the School of Law to provide more than 30 scholarships to first-year Maryland students. To date, more than 150 students have received financial awards.
