Annual Giving

The Law School Fund

The Law School Fund is a vital source of income for the School of Law. It provides resources to meet needs that tuition and state support do not fully fund. Without the generosity of our graduates and friends, the law school's ability to fulfill its historic mission would be severely impaired.

Your Gift Makes a Difference

The Law School Fund raises more than $500,000 in gifts each year. These donor gifts can be used immediately— shortly after you make a gift, the funds become available for use. Recent initiatives supported by the Fund include:

  • Travel and competition expenses for our national champion Trial Team;
  • The recruitment of an extraordinarily gifted class of students from more than 4,000 applicants;
  • Summer research grants that have helped triple faculty scholarship and publication in the last five years;
  • Grants for students to pursue summer public interest work at human service agencies;
  • A wide-ranging faculty development program, including visits and lectures by distinguished legal scholars and jurists from around the world.

The School of Law would need to raise approximately $10 million in newly endowed gifts to generate the more than $500,000 that the Law School Fund raises annually. The Law School Fund is the driving force in providing the School of Law with much needed resources. Every gift to the Fund makes a difference.
