Class of 2008 and John Isbister ´77 to Make a Lasting Impact

Committed to leaving a lasting legacy at the School of Law, and inspired by a challenge from Board of Visitors member John Isbister ´77, the Class of 2008 has revived the tradition of making a class gift. Class members already have pledged over $25,000 to the gift, and the total continues to climb.

"Our class has an opportunity to make an impact on generations of Maryland Law students to come," said Gift Committee co-Chair Justin Browne ´08. "By reviving the tradition of making a class gift, we will encourage future classes to follow our example and make gifts of their own. And reaching our ambitious goal of $25,000 will provide valuable resources for deserving students."

Once the gift drive comes to an end, contributors will vote on how the gift should be utilized. In support of the gift, Mr. Isbister has pledged to match every gift made by a member of the Class of 2008. To date, 40 students have made gifts or pledges.

"Helping someone with their future dreams is just as important as fulfilling your own," said Mr. Isbister, a partner at Tydings & Rosenberg in Baltimore, who serves as Division Director of the ABA's litigation section, and is a past President of the Maryland Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
