Vote on the Class of '09 Gift
Thanks to your support, our class has raised over $12,000! With the generous matching funds provided by we are able to utilize over $24,000 for our class gift. Below are the proposed gift ideas and a short description.
Career Networking for Alumni and Current Students—This grant will provide funding for networking events and activities that help build connections between alumni and students. Our class has been more affected by the current job market than any other class in recent years. A meaningful way for us to help our fellow classmates (and ourselves as alumni) is to provide funding for networking opportunities. Examples could include: speed networking, panel discussions, power lunches.
New Student Initiatives—This grant will enable students to apply for funding that supports new ideas and initiatives that benefit a majority students. Examples could include: bringing prominent speakers to the school, new clinical opportunities, pro bono projects.
Furniture and AV Equipment for the Atrium—When asked what the law school needs, many students say furniture in the atrium to make it a more inviting space. Nice benches or chairs for people to wait for guests, wait for rides home and to congregate. People also recommend a sound system in the atrium to use for events and student activities.
Maryland Community Service Projects—This grant will provide funding for students to utilize in local community service projects. Most of us have been involved in service projects throughout law school and our lives. Everyone knows how much a little funding can really help. Examples could include: rebuilding projects, working with Habitat for Humanity and other current MD Law partners, implementing new service projects.
