Annual Giving

Vote on the Class of '08 Gift

Thanks to your support, our class has raised over $30,000!  With the generous matching funds provided by John Isbister ´77 we are able to establish an endowed fund in the name of our class—The Class of '08 Fund (unofficial name).

Once the endowment is established, it will provide annual "spendable" income in perpetuity.  That spendable income will be available each year to provide financial resources on behalf of the Class of ‘08.

Below are the proposed gift ideas and a short description of the fund.

Student Community Service and Pro Bono Projects--The fund will provide financial assistance for student community service projects or pro bono work annually.  Projects may include Habitat for Humanity, Katrina, Meals on Wheels, etc.

Student Mentoring--This fund will support either a mentoring program between law students and the local Baltimore middle schools and high schools or mentoring for current students.

Faculty Research Awards--This fund will provide financial support for faculty research.  It has been suggested that the fund support lectures, roundtables, panels, etc. where Maryland Law or non-Maryland Law faculty members present their research findings. Another suggestion was that the person receiving the faculty member of the year award should receive an award for their research or a student research assistant.

Please submit your vote anytime until Friday, April 25You must be a class gift participant to vote on the class gift.
