School of Law Alumni interested in serving on the volunteer Alumni Board are asked to submit an application for consideration. Please download the Board Member Candidate Application and email a copy of your responses along with your resume to:

The Selection Process
The Nominations Committee will review candidates and provide a recommendation to the Board for approval at an upcoming meeting. The volunteer position will begin on July 1 of the year you are chosen, and the term is three years. The Nominations Committee thanks you in advance for your interest and willingness to serve.
Expectations
Board members have four primary expectations:
- Attend Board meetings—Typically four meetings per year beginning at 6:00 p.m. Meetings last approximately 1:30 hours.
- Serve as a volunteer on one or more law school projects. Some examples include:
- Serving on a Board committee.
- Becoming a mentor.
- Meeting with students through our Lunch with a Lawyer project.
- Participating in a UMDLaw community service project.
- Sitting on a panel discussion.
- Give an annual gift.
- Attend the annual Alumni Honors Banquet.
