Environmental Law Seminar: Clean Water Act (3)

This seminar will examine the critical components of the Clean Water Act: jurisdiction, point source and wetlands permitting, pollution control standards, stormwater, watershed cleanup plans, citizen suits, and enforcement. The statute and enabling regulations will be examined, as will cases interpreting these laws. Class discussion will focus on various aspects of Clean Water Act litigation and the intersections between the Clean Water Act and other federal statutes such as the National Environmental Policy Act and the Administrative Procedure Act. In addition, the course will cover current developments in Clean Water Act policy and will include opportunities to develop practical skills through role playing and presenting legal arguments. Credit/no credit option is available.
