Criminal Procedure II is an overview of how rules of criminal procedure, constitutional doctrine and practical concerns work in the real world to shape the day-to-day operation of the criminal justice system. It will be taught from a practitioner’s point of view, focusing on the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure. The course emphasizes interaction, with in-class presentations and extensive discussion. By the conclusion of the course students should be familiar with the steps in a simple criminal case and be able to identify the issues that must be pursued for effective representation.
