This offering examines civil litigation in the Maryland state courts as governed by the Maryland Rules of Procedure, the Maryland District Rules, the Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article of the Annotated Code and the common law. All stages of litigation are examined, but special emphasis is placed on Maryland procedural law as to pleadings, motions, discovery, trial, and enforcement of judgments. The grade is based upon assignments and class participation, as well as a final exam. At the discretion of the Associate Dean and instructor, this course may be offered as either a three credit seminar or three credit course. In fall 2006, it will be offered as a three credit course only.
