The Maryland Carey Law-CUFE Law Fall Semester Cooperative Program in Beijing, China

Visitor Admission and Application Information


Eligibility

Any student in good standing at another ABA accredited law school who wishes to participate in the Maryland Carey Law—CUFE Law Cooperative Program in the fall semester in Beijing, China, with the intention of applying those credits towards degree requirements at their home law school may apply as a visiting applicant.

Visiting applicants must submit a letter from their home law school administration stating that the credits they earn at Maryland Carey Law through participation in the Maryland Law—CUFE Law Cooperative Program will be accepted towards degree requirements at their home law school.

If you would like more information about participation in the fall semester program in China, please fill out the online Expression of Interest Form. A representative from the University of Maryland will contact you promptly.

Application Deadline

The deadline to receive the application for such visitor admission is June 1.

Visitor Application Check-List

A completed application file for a visitor applicant consists of:

  • Official Law School Transcript

    Sent directly from the registrar's office at the applicant's current law school to the Admissions Office of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.

  • Statement of good standing and class rank, and agreement to accept credits earned at Maryland from applicant's current law school

    Sent directly from the registrar's office or dean at the applicant's current law school to the Admissions Office of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. The home institution should be informed that the Program has received provisional approval from the ABA as a formal “Cooperative Program” under ABA Standard 307 (Section II).

  • A list of at least two references from your current law school

    Submitted by mail to the School of Law.

  • Résumé

Statement of Interest

Applicants are required to submit a very brief (one or two paragraph) statement along with the application explaining your reasons for wanting to participate in the Maryland Carey Law-CUFE Law Cooperative Program in Beijing, China.

Résumé

Submit a complete résumé or curriculum vitae detailing your education, employment, skills, honors, awards and accomplishments.
