Current tuition is determined by the University and the University of Maryland System Board of Regents.
Tuition for 2017-18 is $807.50 per credit hour, plus a technology fee of $10 per credit hour, an online student services fee of $25 per credit hour, and a flat Student Government Association fee of $20. Students enroll in 7 or 8 credits each semester, and the program takes four semesters to complete.
Students who plan to borrow educational loans in order to attend the MSL program must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://fafsa.ed.gov/. The form becomes available on October 1st each year (for the following academic year) and should be completed as early as possible. The school code requested by the FAFSA is 00210400.
A limited number of partial scholarships are available to help defray the cost of tuition. Scholarships are awarded for the first two semesters of the program. Renewal for the last two semesters of the program requires re-application. The University requires all scholarship recipients to complete and submit the FAFSA (see above) before the University will post the scholarship to the student’s account.
All applicants are eligible to apply for a scholarship, unless receiving full tuition support from an employer or other entity.
Applicants for a scholarship must disclose any non-loan financial support (i.e., any form, or level, of tuition remission or reimbursement provided by an employer, other scholarship provided by a private or public organization, professional or philanthropic group, etc.) which they will be receiving to help defray the cost of tuition.
Applicants interested in applying for a Scholarship should submit a Statement of Scholarship Interest to email@example.com describing the ways in which they fulfill one or both of the criteria listed above. In addition, if receiving financial support from an employer or other entity, the applicant must describe the specific funding anticipated.
