Membership in the Moot Court Board
There are two ways to become a member of the Moot Court Board. First, for the Fall Competition, the Board reserves twelve spots for new members and may invite up to twenty competitors. Second, for the spring's Morris B. Myerowitz Moot Court Competition, the Board reserves five spots for new members and may invite any competitor that places in the top sixteen. Once you become a member of the Moot Court Board, you are required to participate in a variety of activities to remain on the Board and receive credit.
Requirements for members who made the board the previous year:
- Mandatory attendance at all Moot Court Board meetings
- Active membership in a Committee
- Mandatory attendance at all Workshops & Speakers Series Events
- Fall Competition Participation Requirements/Options:
- Judge Oral Arguments
- Grade Briefs
- Practice Arguments/Video Review
- Myerowitz Competition Requirements/Options:
- Grade Briefs
- Practice Arguments/Video Review
- LAWR Program
- Write bench brief for argument
- Assist professors, as needed
Requirements for Members who have just made the Board in the Fall Competition
- Mandatory attendance at all Moot Court Board meetings
- Active membership in a Committee (with the exception of the Competition Committee)
- Mandatory attendance at all Workshops & Speaker Series Events
- Participate in the Morris B. Myerowitz Moot Court Competition in the Spring
- LAWR Program - serve as judges for first-year oral arguments and other responsibilities, as needed.
