Moot Court Board Successes

2013-14

  • Competed in the National Moot Court Competition presented by the New York City Bar Association.
  • Finished as one of the top 10 teams at the National First Amendment Moot Court Competition held at Vanderbilt University.
  • Finished as Overall Runner-Up and won the award for 2nd Best Petitioner’s Brief at the National Criminal Procedure Tournament held at the University of San Diego.  Another of our teams finished as one of the top 16 teams, also taking home an award for 4th Best Respondent’s Brief.
  • Competed in the Dean Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Competition held at Brooklyn Law School.
  • Competed in the Mardi Gras Sports Law Competition held at Tulane Law School.
  • Advanced to the semifinals at the Thurgood A. Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition held in Washington, DC.

2012-13

  • Competed in the National Moot Court Competition presented by the New York City Bar Association.
  • Competed in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition held in Washington, DC.
  • Competed in the National First Amendment Moot Court Competition held at Vanderbilt University.
  • Advanced to the quarterfinals and won award for Best Petitioner’s Brief at the Mardi Gras Sports Law Competition held at Tulane Law School.
  • Advanced to the quarterfinals at the Charleston School of Law National Moot Court Competition held at the Charleston School of Law.
  • Advanced to the quarterfinals and won award for Best Brief and Best Oral Advocate at the National Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition held at Whittier Law School.
  • Competed in the Sutherland Moot Court Competition held at the Columbus School of Law.

2011-12

  • Competed in the National Moot Court Competition presented by the New York City Bar Association.
  • Competed in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition held in Washington, DC.
  • Advanced to the quarterfinals at the National First Amendment Moot Court Competition held at Vanderbilt University.
  • Competed in the John J. Gibbons National Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition held at Seton Hall University.
  • Competed in the J. Braxton Craven, Jr. Memorial Moot Court Competition held at the University of North Carolina.
  • Advanced to the semifinals at the Bryant-Moore Invitational Moot Court Competition held at Howard University.

2010-11

  • Finished as one of the top 16 teams nationally at the National Moot Court Competition presented by the New York City Bar Association.  In achieving this success, the team was the top team at the regional competition, where it also won the award for Best Brief and Best Oral Advocate.
  • Competed in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition held in Washington, DC.
  • Advanced to the semifinals and won the award for Runner-Up Best Oralist at the John J. Gibbons National Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition held at Seton Hall University.
  • Competed in the J. Braxton Craven, Jr. Memorial Moot Court Competition held at the University of North Carolina.
  • Competed in the Herbert J. Weschler National Criminal Moot Court Competition held at Buffalo Law School.
  • Competed in the Mardi Gras Sports Law Competition held at Tulane Law School.
  • Competed in the Thurgood A. Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition held in Washington, DC.
  • Competed in the National Health Law Moot Court Competition held at Southern Illinois University.
