Prof. Monopoli Examines Role of Female Supreme Court Justices with Washington Lawyer

Professor Paula Monopoli, founding director of the Women Leadership & Equality Program, was quoted extensively in the Washington Lawyer article, “Women in the Court,” which highlights the female justices of the Supreme Court.

“Women’s intellectual voices are often pushed out of the public sphere and the institutions of government,” Monopoli said in the article. “But they are in there proving every day that they are the equals of the male justices. These women are there for life, and even if they are in the minority, they will keep speaking. They will keep staking out their territory. Their voices are critical.”

Monopoli, the Sol & Carlyn Hubert Professor of Law, teaches in the areas of Property, Trusts & Estates and Gender and the Law, and is the co-author of Law and Leadership: Integrating Leadership Studies into the Law School Curriculum.
